"Shell"
Bronze sculpture made from a paper circle.
Coquillage is a shape generated by the regular, systematic folding of a circular paper surface. However, by reversing the folding direction in certain areas, the sculpture escapes the circle to resemble a shell. It is made from a single sheet of large-format paper, without adding or removing material.
In this sense, it’s origami.
