"Branching IX"

Sculpture in white bronze and wood

Inspired by a crayfish claw, this sculpture places the two parts that make up the claw in tension. The first part is protected by scales that form an armor, and the second is devoid of them. Yet they both end in a spear that seems to want to join together to skewer invisible prey. Resting on two outgrowths at the base of the claw, the sculpture is held in balance by a wooden branch. The spear appears to be an extension of the branch, as if the wood were being transformed into metal. This balanced position lends a lightness that contrasts with the sculpture’s apparent aggressiveness.
This sculpture is an original work produced in a limited edition of 8 pieces (What is an original work ?). It is shown here, as is often the case, in white bronze, but it can also be made in bronze, silver, resin, or even gold !

Gold fluctuates a lot, so contact me for a more precise quote. The price shown is an estimate

Most of my work is based on a 3D model that I create and print before casting in metal. You can therefore choose from several materials (silver, gold, stainless steel, bronze, white bronze or Smoky black resin) and, why not, imagine it in a larger size. So don't hesitate to contact me (free estimate of course ;)
