"Branching VIII"
Sculpture in white bronze and wood
This sculpture from the Embranchements series features an egg with wooden branches running through it. Cut into two sections, separated from each other but held together by a structure, the interior of the egg is revealed. Two arms connect the two pieces of shell, and shapes inspired by the bones and auricles of the ear are also connected to these arms. An idea of a living organism ready to come to life emerges. The presence of two branches in the extension of the two metal arms lends credence to this idea : one thinks of a deer’s antlers. The types of wood used vary from one sculpture to another, having been gleaned from walks in the forest.
This sculpture is an original work produced in a limited edition of 8 pieces (What is an original work ?). It is shown here, as is often the case, in white bronze, but it can also be made in bronze, silver, resin, or even gold !
