"Machine_os IV"
Sculpture in white bronze
Machine_os IV is the result of work based essentially on NURBS curve modeling techniques. It was created using Autodesk Alias. The starting point is an organic form, a lung. This lung is then connected by an arched channel and a joint (like the head of a femur) to a pair of seed-like bursae. The sculpture is made up of two parts, one of which is supported by the other. Each sculpture in the Machine_os collection presents technical difficulties that raise questions about the use of this kind of tool in the field of artistic creation, which is regularly discussed on the blog.
