"Branching VI"
Sculpture in white bronzel and wood
This sculpture, like most of the other « Embranchement » pieces, articulates wooden branches of several different species, but this time it does so with 3 different branches rather than two. The branches support a joint freely inspired by the shape of the body’s bones. The joint is carried upwards like a totem by the branches. The 3 joint heads, organized in a circle, extend into a cone that seems to point towards the ground at the center of the composition, lending credence to the idea that the sculpture could be a ritual device. The branches I use come from forest walks in my region in the south of France. The species of wood and their shape therefore vary from one piece to another.
This sculpture is an original work produced in a limited edition of 8 pieces (What is an original work ?). It is shown here, as is often the case, in white bronze, but it can also be made in bronze, silver, resin, or even gold !
